For the 75th Anniversary of D-day, History wanted to create an interactive experience focusing on their extensive library of on-air media. We worked closely with History’s editorial staff to create an immersive experience, which showcases the available content on History’s paid content provider History Vault, as well as an upcoming special on D-Day.
We helped to identify video, audio and images from both their internal library, as well as several external sources including the Imperial War Museum and The National Archives to tell the perfect story. We decided the best execution was to break the invasion into it’s phases- the plan, the build up, and the individual phases of the invasion itself. This allowed for a deeper dive into each phase and the ability to take History’s video out of a traditional video player and deploy it fullscreen, to set the unique tone of each section of the interactive.
