Mclaren F1 wanted to create a way for their fans to celebrate the start of the new season. We helped them create an Augmented Reality experience that allowed users to size and place both Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz cars and have a little fun doing burnouts.
We created a low-polly model of the MCL35 and using Spark AR gave the user the ability to change the texture to match Lando or Carlos number (4 or 55). Then scale the model so it could fit on a tabletop or street within the viewport of the users phone. Once placed the user used the “burnout button” to start doing donuts with their selected car and take video or screenshots to post to their Instagram story using the hashtag #McLarenRacing2020.
